The English term Gospel comes from the Old English Godspell and is a translation of the Greek noun Evangelion, which means “good tidings” or “good news.” In other words, the Gospel is the good news that God sent His Son, Jesus, to earth to save a lost world. Â This message is of utmost importance for all Christians and non-Christians alike; it is to bring all humanity into God’s Kingdom under His reign of righteousness, peace, joy, and prosperity.
In addition, the Gospel is a message of love and hope. Â It tells us how God reached out to a sinful world and offered forgiveness and new life through His Son.
God sent Christ Jesus, who came to earth, lived a sinless life, and died in our place. Â By this, He paid the price of eternal life for anyone who would believe and accept Him as their substitute and redeemer. Â The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the good news that leads to eternal life.
But what does that mean to you specifically?
In this blog, we’ll explore the Gospel, what it is, what it entails, and how you can become a part of the Kingdom of God if you are not already. Â And if you are a child of God, please share this with your friends who are yet to be.
We hope that through this understanding, you’ll realize just how much God loves you and desires to have a personal relationship with you.
What is the Gospel of Jesus Christ?
Simply put, the Gospel is the good news: Jesus died on the cross to pay for our sins and rose from the dead to give us eternal life. Â It tells us how God reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ. Â Therefore, its message is of utmost importance as it shows us the provision God has made to bring us into His Kingdom, where there is righteousness, peace, and joy. Â The news is that God has provided the way for us to be free from the dominion and penalty of sin. This came to us through the Gospel. (Joh 14:6; Rom 6:23).
The Gospel is the Message of God’s Love for Us.
Furthermore, it reveals the love of the Father God, who sent His Son to earth to redeem us. Â This good news narrates His sinless life, message, crucifixion, burial, resurrection, and ascension to the right hand of the Father and all that the Son went through to restore us to the Father’s Kingdom. Â The Gospel also tells us that Jesus is coming back again to reign as KING of kings on this earth.
Therefore, the core message to humanity is that anyone who wholeheartedly believes and accepts this Good News from God will be transformed instantly by the power of the Holy Spirit to become a New Creation.
The Gospel is the Power of God for a Believer’s Salvation
Apostle Paul writes in his Epistle to the Romans,”For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek” (Romans 1:16).
In this passage, the Apostle tells us that the Gospel is the power of God for healing, deliverance, protection, prosperity, and safety. The Gospelt brought us redemption, the act ofrepurchasing usk from Satan’s Kingdom and placing us in God’s Kingdom. Â He repurchased us with the Blood of Jesus and made us members of the Body of Christ. Â Hence, we become new creatures in Christ, have peace today, and hope for the future through the Gospel.
Why Do We Need the Gospel of Jesus Christ
The summary of the state of humanity stated in its simplest form is that all of us, descendants of Adam, have sinned, and “we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.” And the Bible in the New Testament tells us that “the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). Â We all died and could not deliver ourselves from the power of sin and death. Â Therefore, we were powerless against the power of sin and in danger of eternal punishment.
And that is when the love of God showed up through the Gospel. Â The New Living Translation of the Bible presents this news this way:
“When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us… But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.“
Therefore we need the Gospel of Jesus Christton receive forgiveness of sin, deliverance from the power of Satan, and escape the judgment to come on Satan and his Kingdom.
To Be Saved from the Wrath of God
In the third chapter of the Gospel of John, the Scripture tells us that anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life; But anyone who “doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment” (Joh 3:36, NLT Version)
This is because we (all men) born in Adam are already condemned, but Jesus came to take away our condemnation and the required punishment for us. But this is only for those who believe the Gospel. Â Anyone who does not believe in the Gospel will have to suffer the required punishment for themselves.
“Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God” (Joh 3:18).
Without the Gospel, We will Be Ignorant of God’s Plan of Salvation.
Romans Chapter 10, verses 14-16, tells us that we would not be able to call on God for salvation or any help if not forSalvationel. Â It says this with the following questions:
First question-“How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed?”
Second question-“And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard?”
Third question-“How shall they hear without a preacher?”Â
Fourth question- “And how shall they preach unless they are sent?” As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the Gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!”
“But they have not all obeyed the Gospel. Â For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?” (Rom 10:14-16, NKJV).
Faith, the Bible tells us, comes from hearing God’s words. Â And the word of God came to us through the Gospel.
What must I do to enter the Kingdom of God?
To enter the Kingdom of God, you must be born again.
“Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”.  (John 3:3).  And Jesus is the way to enter the Kingdom.
In other words, Jesus is the only way to eternal life. Â You must repent and come to Him, become a believer, and accept Him as your Savior. Â This is what brings about the miracle of new birth.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).
What must I do to Be Born Again?
“Sirs, what must I do to be saved?  That’s the million-dollar question.  In the sixteenth Chapter of Acts, the Philippian Jailer earnestly asked Paul and Silas this question.  After an earthquake shook the prison and  forced the prison doors to open. This tremors broke  the prisoner’s shackles . When the Jailer saw this, he was frigthened and was going to kill himself because he thought the prisoners had escaped.  However, Paul quickly intervened, letting him no one had left.
Therefore, the Jailer fell, trembling before Paul and Silas, he asked this million-dollar question. Â This, indeed, is a question every human must ask, get a clear answer to, and act upon. Â What must I do to be saved?
Paul and Silas answered: “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, and your house.”
In other words, you cannot attain Salvation by good works. Â However, you must repent turn to the Lord Jesus in faith. Â That is, you forsake your old ways, turn from them, ask God to forgive you, and begin to obey the Gospel of Christ.
7 Benefits of being born again
Immediately you put your faith in Christ Jesus, God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit performed the work of regeneration in you. Â God has provisioned everything needed for your Salvation in its entirety. Â ThereforSalvationk is required from your side. Â All you need do is accept or receive that which has been packaged for you by God.
And the ONE keyword in the Salvation message is “Believe” (e.g., John 1:12; 3:15, 16), which is not only the one thing God requires but also the ONLY thing that man can do (John 3:18).Â
Being born again is not a makeover, a renewal, or a cleansing of the old life, but a total removal of the old and a creation of a New Man. Â
On our part, it is an act of faith; we only need to believe and accept God’s sacrifice for our salvation. Â And we inherit the new lSalvationy and peace in Christ. Â However, on God’s part, it took the sacrifice of His only begotten Son on the Roman cross.
Similarly, followers of Christ enjoy many benefits. Â As a start, they have been delivered from the harassment of Satan. Â After that, God transferred them into His Kingdom. Â By these, they escaped the wrath of God and lived in liberty and in accordance with His commandments of love. Â And now, they live as new creatures and shine God’s light in the world through their evangelism. Â By this, they’ll make a difference in the world.
To emphasize the statement above, see below a partial list of the benefits of being born-again.
You Become a New Creation
First, the old self, your spirit which came from the ‘first man,’ Adam, has passed away, and God has recreated you. Â Your spirit has been born again by the Spirit of God. Â And that which is born of the Spirit is spirit as Jesus said in the Gospel of John chapter 3. Â So, your spirit or inner man is exactly in the image of God the creator. Â You’re therefore as pure and righteous as God your Father and possess His divine nature. Â The old is gone, and the new man has come.
To re-emphasize this, the second Epistle to the Corinthians Chapter 5, verse 17 reads: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. Â The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”
A Member of the Royal Family of God and Joint-Heir with Christ
Second, “you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God” (Ephesians 2:19).  And you have a great privilege of being an heir of God and joint-heir with Christ.  You have received “forgiveness of sins, and an inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in Christ.“ (Ephesians 1:10).
You Have Ete1nal Life and Gain Father-Child Relationship and Fellowship with God
Third, you have been born-again into Christ, and this gives you a new identity that sets you apart from the world. Â Now, you are now a child of God, born by Him and a Bonafide member of His family. Â Therefore, you have access to His power and blessings.
“His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence, by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire” (2 Peter 1:3,4).
Received the Holy Spirit and God’s Promises
Fourth, not only did you become a partaker of God’s divine nature, but you also received the Holy Spirit dwelling inside you (in your spirit-man) at the new birth. Â In addition, He has promised to be in you for life. Â And greater is in that lives in you than he that is in the world.
The Holy Spirit dwelling in you changes everything in life. Â You have access to strength, supernatural guidance, comfort, and revelation. Â Becoming filled with the Holy Spirit will lead you to revelation and understanding of God’s mind.
New Creation Brings You Righteousness, Peace, and Joy
Fifth, no doubt being born again leads to righteousness, peace, and joy in our lives. Â It’s the answer to all of our problems. Â Through the life of Jesus, His death, burial, and resurrection, we become the righteousness of God in Him. And the perfect righteousness of Jesus has been deposited into our account.
Similarly, the Scripture tells us that the righteousness of Christ in you will produce peace, quietness, and restfulness in your life. Â Isaiah chapter 32:17 says
“And this righteousness will bring peace. Â Yes, it will bring quietness and confidence forever. Â My people will live safely, quietly at home” (NLT version).
Hear His voice
Sixth, Under the old covenant, only a few people had the privilege of hearing God’s voice. Â God spoke to Old Testament Prophets and gave them words to deliver to His people. Â And when the people of God needed guidance, they went to a Seer or Prophet to inquire of the Lord.
A major blessing for one who is a New Creation in Christ is the privilege of talking to God Almighty and hearing His voice in response to their request. Â God speaks to us, His children, through the Holy Spirit who dwells in us. Â When you pray or worship, make it a habit to listen in your spirit to the Spirit of God. Â He will speak to you. You will have access to God’s supernatural power.
As a believer, God has given you authority to use the “Name of JESUS.” This Name has the mighty power of God, the Creator and Possessor of All things, and the fulness of the Godhead bundled in it. Â And this Name, which belongs to Jesus, has been given to every member of the New Creation in Him. Whatever we demand in the Name of Jesus will be done.
The Bible tells us that “Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:9-10).
And the Lord Jesus gave us the authority to use His Name. Â When speaking to the disciples, He commanded them and us to go into the world and preach the Gospel with the supernatural power of God.
Likewise, as recorded in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, and John, He said: “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Â Go therefore and make disciples of all nations“ (Matthew 28:18,19).
“Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.“ (Joh 14:13).
“These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my Name, and they will speak in new languages… They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed.” (Mark 16:17).
All supernatural power is available to any Christian who would dare to believe.
3 Steps to Become a New creation in Christ
To be born again by the Spirit of God and become a New Creation in Christ, follow the three simple steps below:
1. Â Recognize that You are a Sinner
Sin is a reality that we all face. Â It affects our thoughts, emotions, and actions in various ways. Â While we can’t eliminate sin completely, Salvation comes through Jesus ChristSalvationersonal Savior. Â Once we have faith in Him, He begins to change us from the inside out – leading us toward repentance and Salvation.
We must come to terms witSalvationt that we are sinners before God and accept His forgiveness; without this step, there is no hope of overcoming sin’s power over us.
2. Â Believe the Gospel, Believe God’s Testimony
What can you do to earn this Salvation? Â Nothing.
Your morality cSalvatione you, and neither can your good work. Â Your acts of kindness to the poor cannot save you, and neither can your religious activities.
But what must you do to be saved?
Repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved, and thy house” (Acts 16:31). Â Therefore turn to Jesus, accept his sacrifice on the cross for you, and believe in his blood shed for your redemption.
3. Â Accept Him as Savior and Confess Him as Lord
The next step is to accept Jesus as your personal Savior and confess Him as Lord. Â In other words, if you have never asked Him to come into your heart before, could you do it now? Â Speak to the Lord Jesus by yourself:
Thank Him for dying for you, for carrying your sins on the cross, for suffering and paying for them.
Then tell Him you want Him to be your Savior from this moment on. Â Make a quality decision to submit your life to Him, then tell Him to become the Lord of your life from this moment on.
Â
Pray and Accept Jesus as Your Savior
Now, pray in your own words and from your heart a prayer like this one for your Salvation now:
Dear Heavenly Father,Salvationo you in the Name of Jesus. Â Your word says, anyone that comes to you, You will in no wise cast out (John 6:37).
So, I know you won’t cast me out. Â Thank You.
In addition, Lord, you said in your word that...if I confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in mine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, I shall be saved, and that whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved (Rom. 10:13).
I believe in my heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He suffered, died on the cross, was buried, and rose on the third day for my justification.
Jesus paid for my sins; He was made sin for me. Â Therefore, I accept You, Jesus, this day as my Savior and Lord.Â
Confess Jesus Christ as Your Lord and Savior
I confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior; therefore, according to God’s word, I am saved. Â I am a New Creation in Christ.
Thank you, my Father, and thank you, my Lord, in Jesus’ Name, amen.
For the Scripture says: “If you declare with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Because  it is with your heart that you believe and is justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”
As the Scripture says, anyone who believes in Jesus will never be put to shame.  For everyone who calls on the Name of the Lord will be saved. (Rom.10:9–11,13)
According to John 6:37, which says: “him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out,” he will not cast you out.
Therefore, you are saved! Â You are a New Creation in Christ. Â Praise God: you are a child of the living God! Â Glory to God on high.
