Saints Given Dominion over Demons
God has not told you, a child of God, to pray to Him so He can deal with evil spirits for you. So don’t go to God asking Him to do something about the devil for you. Christ Jesus has done all that God is going to do concerning the devil. He finished him, collected all the keys and gave the authority to us to use in His Name. God will not cast out a devil for you. You should get up, face the devils, and in the Name of Jesus, you cast them out. God has given us, the Church, dominion of the kingdom of darkness. He has given each of us, born-again children of God, authority over the devil and his demons, to overcome and overpower them, and to cast them out.
Don’t forget what Peter the Apostle taught us in his Epistle. The adversary the devil is walking about seeking whom he may devour. Now it means he cannot devour everyone. There are exceptions. And you are one of those exceptions, if you are a child of God and know your rights as discussed in this book. This is Peter’s advice:
Peter said, first—you must submit to God.
Then—you should resist the devil, and he will, as in terror, flee from you.
Resist him, and command him in the Name of Jesus to get out of your business.
Don’t give place to the devil. If you give him an inch, he’ll take a mile. So resist him steadfastly.
The Truth Shall Make You Free
Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (Joh 8:31).
You have been set free by the Son of God. And “if the Son shall set you free, you shall be free indeed” However, for you to remain free, because the enemy would usually attempt a comeback, you must fill yourself with the word of God. Continuing in God‟s Word will bring a revelation knowledge of the truth and when this truth is acted upon, it will bring permanent freedom. So let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly” (Colossians 3:6) And be a doer of the word not a hearer only. Don’t be one of those trying to do through prayer and laying on of hands, what the Word of God is designed by God to do!
Prayer of Agreement in Exercising Authority
A believer can exercise authority over powers of darkness in his immediate sphere of influence, like his home and even his close extended family. But when it gets beyond his own jurisdiction, he will have to get other believer in the other family to join with him in agreement to extend the jurisdiction of his spiritual authority in order to exercise any spiritual authority on behalf the other family. This is the reason Jesus taught us to pray prayers of agreement in the 18th chapter of the Gospel of Matthew (Matt 18:19). We are to get both parties to concurrently agree with God’s Word and pray on that basis. If we are praying beyond our realm of authority for someone else, that person needs to be in agreement with us, so our prayers can be effective.
The same thing applies in breaking the power of evil spirit over a person’s life. The person has to agree. We cannot necessarily break demonic powers over another person’s life if that person doesn’t want it broken. God has given every person a right to choose who they will serve, and we won’t be able to violate their will. A person‟s will has a lot to do with their own deliverance. That’s why we need to teach people their own responsibility in dealing with the devil.
Building Up Yourselves in Your Most Holy Faith.
“But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life” (Jud 1:20,21).
In this end-time, as Christ brings the first-fruits of His sons to maturity, God will begin to speak through His sons. The works He did, these company of overcomers will do also, because Jesus Christ has gone to the Father and thus able to reproduce Himself in these ones through the work of the Holy Spirit. These ones are in the foundry as we speak, being forged and fashioned to become golden vessels meet for the master’s use. They are all living stones, still with rough edges, but God is patient and full of compassion; He has decided not to throw any of them away, but, even in the face of resistance from them, has decided He will smoothen their rough edges until they can perfectly fellowship and work with one another without attrition.
He’s raising up an army to destroy Goliath and therefore fashioning them into the ‘five smooth stones’ with which the Son of David, His Anointed One, will bring down the Philistine. He’s forming a Body of sons, who perfectly united in spirit like the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost; will be His voice in this end-time. They are His anointed ones at the end-time. They are His prophets to the nations. They are His priests to the whole of creation.
And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover” (Mar 16:17,18)
“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” (Luke 10:19).
