Are you seeking a miracle from God for your health? Discover how to receive wholeness from God by approaching Him with faith in the redemptive work of Christ. This article will discuss healing, how to receive divine healing from God, and how to keep it and walk in divine health.
We will learn the importance of walking by faith, not sight, and enjoying the blessing of divine health. God has done this in my life for the past 49 years.
What is Divine Healing?
Divine healing is an act of God’s supernatural intervention in healing a person’s physical, emotional, or spiritual afflictions. The Bible teaches that God is loving and desires His people to enjoy good health.
Acts 10:38 describes how God anointed Jesus Christ with the Holy Spirit and power and how He did good and healed all who the devil oppressed. This verse shows that healing was a significant part of Jesus’ ministry and that the Father anointed Him for that purpose. In other words, it is God’s will for us and sick people to be healed.
The scripture tells us that we can receive divine healing in several ways. It can be through the working of miracles like Jesus demonstrated. It can be through the laying on of the hands of believers, and their prayer of faith will heal the sick. A believer who is ill can also ask Jesus, the Healer in faith, and the individual’s faith will make them whole. Any believer can call upon the Name of Jesus for deliverance, and they will be made whole. And that faith can keep the individual permanently whole.
Is Divine Healing for Today?
The answer is yes. Divine healing is available for believers today. God continues to heal people supernaturally in response to their faith. The Bible teaches that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever and that the power of God to heal has not diminished. Likewise, Jesus said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will also do; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father” (John 14:12). This verse shows us that Jesus expects us to do the same works that He did, even greater works.
In the late sixties, I was a member of a large denomination that believed differently about healing. Their Pastors preached that Paul, Peter, James, and John and the apostles did miracles and healed the sick. But that when the last apostle died, miracles ceased. Their ignorance of God’s word and their unbelief in the present-day healing power of Jesus Christ prevented them from experiencing the manifestation of God’s power.
The Basis of Divine Healing
The basis for divine healing is found throughout the Old and New Testaments.. God promises to heal us if we put our faith in Him. In Exodus 15:26, God said, “..For I am the Lord who heals you.” This passage emphasizes God’s identity as our healer and indicates that healing is His will for us. In addition, the Lord Jesus came to do the will of God. Matthew 4:23-24 states that “Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.” of God’s nature. This confirms what the scripture in Psalm 103:3 says about God: He “Who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases.”
God also made provision for us to receive healing through prayer. James 5:15 says, “And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.” This verse shows us that prayer is a powerful tool for receiving divine healing.
Christ Took Care of our Sins and Sickness, According to the Scripture
Every Christian believes that God dealt with the sin problem when He sacrificed His Son on the cross in our place. We have no problem believing that “God made Him, who knew no sin, to be sin for us that we might become the righteousness of God in Him” and that it was on the cross that “the Lord laid on him the iniquity of us all” (2 Corinthians 5:21, Isa 53:6). Why then is it so difficult for us, children of God, to believe the rest of the redemptive work that Christ did for us that same time on the cross? For when He took care of our sins, He also took care of our sicknesses. By His blood, He bought us redemption and the forgiveness of our sins and transgressions. He brought us total redemption, which includes salvation and healing from all infirmities.
Peter said: “By Whose Stripes Ye Were Healed.”
“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes, we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5).
Prophet Isaiah spoke about the coming of Jesus Christ, the Messiah, and the sacrifice on the cross for the world’s sins. His prophecy states that Christ’s sacrifice took our sins away and brought us healing in our souls and body.
Two additional scriptural witnesses confirm that Jesus took care of our sins and our sicknesses on the cross.
One: “When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses” (Matt 8:16,17).
Two: Apostle Peter confirms this, saying: “His own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed “(I Pet 2:24). Read More LINK
Learning from Miracles of Healing in the Bible
The Bible is full of stories of miraculous healings. These stories show us that healing is possible through faith and prayer. One of the most well-known stories is the healing of the man at the pool of Bethesda in John 5:1-15. In this story, Jesus heals the man who had been sick for 38 years by simply saying, “Rise, take up your bed, and walk.”
Another one of these healings is found in Luke 8:43-48. Here Jesus heals a woman who had been bleeding for 12 years. He simply said to her, “Daughter, be of good cheer; your faith has made you well.” How did she receive the healing? Her faith made her whole.
The Power of Confessing the Word of God in Divine Healing
The power of confessing the Word of God is an integral part of divine healing. Romans 8:9, the Bible says, “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. With the heart, one believes and is justified, and with the mouth, one confesses and is saved” (Rom 10:9,10). In addition, Romans 10:17 says, “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” This verse shows us that faith comes from hearing the Word of God and that salvation comes from confessing the Word of faith. Healing is ours when we believe God’s word concerning our situation and confess it.
We can confess the Word of God over ourselves and others to receive healing from God. In James 5:14, it says, “Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.” This verse shows us that prayer and anointing with oil can bring healing in the name of the Lord.
Jesus Christ the Healer
The Bible tells us that Jesus is the healer. Matthew 9:35 says, “Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.” This verse shows us that Jesus healed every sickness and every disease among the people.
Act 10:38 is even more emphatic on this. It states that God anointed Jesus Christ of Nazareth to heal those oppressed by the devil. And Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). This means He can heal us today. He can heal any sickness or disease we may have today.
How to Receive Divine Healing from God
- First, believe in God’s power and willingness to heal. Deposit the word of God in your heart richly and meditate on it until you are soaked. Believe that God can heal you and will heal you.
- Second, Pray and ask God for healing. Believe that God heard and has granted your request. Then, by faith, receive your healing.
- Third, Believe that God healed you while you were praying. The Lord Jesus said, “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” (Mark 11:24). Believe that you have been healed, even if you have not seen the physical evidence yet. And begin thanking God for the healing.
- Finally, Praise God and thank Him for the healing.
These steps are simple but powerful. They can help you to receive and experience divine healing in your life.
What Are the Possible Challenges With Receiving Divine Healing?
There will be challenges when trying to receive divine healing. The first challenge is overcoming unbelief. He who doubts God’s word cannot receive the promises of God. To overcome unbelief, focus on building your faith through reading and meditating on the Scriptures. In addition, pray in the spirit, and pray with fasting also. Meditate on God’s promises until His words mix with faith in your heart.
The second challenge is to overcome the reluctance to ask God. When most people have a serious health need, praying is often the last thing they do. They often seek natural healing means and only come to God halfheartedly as a last resort.
The third challenge is to keep believing that God has already healed you despite contrary physical evidence. This is the faith of Abraham, who called “those things that be not as they were.” Keep believing that God has completed the healing and that the physical manifestation is undoubtedly coming. Read More at LINK
